Four steps
How a heat-pump swap runs, start to finish
You decide at step two, with the price in writing. Nothing starts before that.
- 01
Step 1: Home visit
An energy advisor and a plumber look at the heater, the panel, the space around it and the gas line. We take photos and measurements.
You: have the heater accessible
We: check the panel, the drain and the gas line
- 02
Step 2: Written plan and rebate check
You get the plan and the price in writing, with the panel work, the gas cap and the permit each on its own line. We check which programs are open to you.
You: read it, ask questions, take your time
We: name the programs we found
- 03
Step 3: Install day
We shut off and cap the gas, set the heat pump, connect the circuit and the drain, and test it with you at home. Most installs are done in a day.
You: be home, or let us know who will be
We: show you the cap and the drain
- 04
Step 4: Permit and paperwork
We book the inspection, hand you the sign-off and the manuals, and send the rebate paperwork with you as the program asks.
You: sign your part of the forms
We: keep a copy of ours
If the plan changes
What can add a visit
A full panel
A panel upgrade is done by a licensed electrician before install day, and it is its own line on the plan.
A closet with no air
It may need a louvered door or a duct, which we measure at the visit.
A drain that is far away
A condensate pump can solve it. We say so on the plan.
Start with the home visit
It is where the plan, the price and the rebate check all begin.
